‘Mount Carmel’ takes its name from the beautiful mountain rising from the Mediterranean Sea, renowned for its verdant beauty and serene atmosphere. The word Carmel has its origins in Hebrew, where it is spelled as כַּרְמֶל (Karmel). It means garden, symbolizing growth, nurturing atmosphere, and abundance. In 2018, the Carmelites brought this legacy to Shimoga, establishing Mount Carmel Cbse School under the patronage of Our Lady of Mount Carmel to provide holistic education rooted in moral and ethical values.
