Mount Carmel School, Shivamogga, celebrated Teachers' Day with great enthusiasm on the 5th of September, 2024, commemorating the birth anniversary of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan. The event was a heartfelt tribute to the teachers, honoring their dedication and tireless efforts in shaping the lives of students.
The program commenced at 9:30 a.m. with a solemn prayer, followed by the singing of the National Anthem. The ceremonial Lamp Lighting was led by our principal, Fr. Suresh Saldanha, the correspondent, Fr. Sunil Rodrigues, the chief guest, Mr. S. Anthony, a retired teacher, and several other dignitaries. This symbolic act was accompanied by a beautiful prayer dance performed by the students

A notable highlight of the celebration was a theatrical performance by a group of eight students, which reflected the significance of Teachers' Day. Additionally, students from Grade 5 recited poems dedicated to teachers, adding a poetic charm to the event. As a token of appreciation, the senior students took on the responsibility of teaching for the day, allowing the teachers a moment of relaxation. Each teacher was presented with a decorated rose and chocolates, along with gifts for their participation in various sports events.
The chief guest, Mr. S. Anthony, delivered an inspiring speech, emphasizing the critical role of teachers in society, drawing parallels to the exemplary life of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan. His words left a profound impact on both students and teachers alike.
The program concluded with a Vote of Thanks by Shishir, followed by the School Anthem. The celebration was a beautiful tribute, and the students expressed their heartfelt gratitude to all the teachers for their guidance, care, and commitment to education
